In this week-long course, we will create our own stock-frame animation. By the end of the week, the children will have created a short animation feature with their own characters. We will learn storyboarding, character creation, clay techniques, and about the animation software necessary to bring their figures to life.

We will be showcasing this work at the end of the week with a short movie. We are going to be creating animations in the same style as Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, however, students are welcome to bring in their own existing characters, such as Lego figures, Plasticine men, or anything else that they would like to animate.

This course is suitable from 6 years onwards. They will learn basic animation techniques and how to use software so that they can return home and create animation themselves.

about

Studio 48 is located next to Beaverhall Studios. All classes are taught by me, Sally-Ann Johns, in my working studio. My passion is encouraging young artists in a supportive and friendly environment. I have been working in the arts for 15 years, from making and selling pieces to exhibiting internationally, and have for the last 5 years been running my own classes and workshops. From young and old, beginners to aspiring art college graduates, an art education is possible for all types of people. I am a member of the Scottish Artist Union, PVG disclosed and Public Liability Insured. By limiting my classes to 8 people, it allows for a more personal and individual level of learning.

I send out the odd update with information about new classes. Follow me on social media to see photos of the children's work.
