Watercolour Plus
This weekly class will help you to build confidence in using watercolours. We’ll explore different ways of using the paint by incorporating and adding a wide variety of media, subjects and techniques to enhance each piece of work.
We’ll practice traditional and more unconventional approaches to using watercolour to achieve some stunning results.

Each class is 2 hours long and starts at 10.30am on Mondays. The course runs from 25th of April till 27th of June (10 sessions). The cost for the term is £216. Mixed Media

Why stop at one medium when you can have so much fun mixing it up? This weekly class will explore a wide variety of media including oil & chalk pastels, graphite & coloured pencils, paints, inks, papers, fabrics, threads and much more.
To make the most of these different media we’ll employ techniques such as painting, printing, stitching, sgraffito and collage.
Each class is 2 hours long and starts at 10.30am on Tuesdays. The course runs from 26th of April till 28th of June (10 sessions). The cost for the term is £216. Drawing
Learn to draw and see the world that surrounds us inside and outside in new and surprising ways. By making time for careful and directed observation we will explore our environment through thoughtful use of perspective, scale, subject and differing viewpoints. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of papers and media to express themselves and their view of the world in an individual way.

Rosemary Taylor

Rosemary Taylor is an Edinburgh based artist and educator. Since graduating with a BA(hons) in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee, she has continued to develop her artistic practice, exhibiting work throughout Scotland. She has been the recipient of national and international awards.
Rosemary is also a highly regarded art teacher and has spent many years teaching in public and private settings. Her interest in using a wide variety of media to express her interests when making work has given her a love of teaching drawing, painting and mixed
media.
Rosemary graduated with distinction in her Master Degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice from Duncan of Jordanstone in 2018.
About Studio 48
Studio 48 is located on Newhaven Road in Edinburgh. All classes are taught by qualified artists at a working studio. Our passion is encouraging artists in a supportive and friendly environment. Studio 48 has been running classes for 8 years, we teach young and old, beginners to aspiring art college graduates, an art education is possible for all types of people. All artists are members of the Scottish Artist Union, PVG disclosed and Public Liability Insured. Classes are small which allows for a more personal and individual level of learning.
